I’m a Nashville-based golfer who spends a lot of time walking my home course. I test golf gear because I actually use it, not just to talk about it. When something makes the game easier or more enjoyable, I want people to know about it. This review is from that place — no sponsors, no fluff, just my honest thoughts after putting the Green Eagle FollowM8 through a few rounds.

    First Impressions and Price

The Green Eagle FollowM8 caught my eye because it costs less than $2,000. That’s a big deal when most electric caddies with similar features are selling for $3,000 to $4,000. Even at the lower price, this thing comes loaded. It can follow you automatically, it has cruise control, a joystick remote, and a phone app that lets you steer it if your remote dies.

Setup was simple, and the build feels sturdy. It’s compact, easy to handle, and clearly designed for golfers who actually walk the course.

    On-Course Performance

I got to test the FollowM8 right away when I hooked a drive way left. That meant rough terrain, bumps, dips, and tall grass. It handled all of it easily. The remote control is responsive and smooth, and even at full speed, it never felt unstable. It doesn’t oversteer or jerk when you turn, which makes it feel natural and predictable.

If you play a lot of hilly or uneven courses, this thing shines. You can just tell it’s built to take a beating without losing control.

    Stability on Hills

The stability is one of the FollowM8’s strongest points. It has four anti-tip wheels, two on each side, that keep it from flipping backward when you’re going uphill. I tested it on one of the steepest hills at my home course, and it climbed like a champ. Even when I sent it sideways across the slope, it stayed steady.

That matters. The last thing you want is to watch your clubs tumble down a hill halfway through your round.

    Smart and Useful Details

Green Eagle clearly thought about the small stuff. There’s a built-in phone holder that lays flat and secure, which makes it easy to use GPS apps like 18Birdies or The Grint. It’s also nice for quick calls mid-round.

The removable battery lasts around 36 holes on a full charge. The screen shows your battery level, which mode you’re in, and even how far you’ve walked. It’s a small feature, but it’s cool to track your miles over a season.

    Follow and Recall Features

The FollowM8 name makes sense because the follow feature works really well. You press a button on the remote, and it just trails behind you at a steady pace. It’s smooth and consistent, and after a few minutes, you forget it’s even there.

The recall feature is just as useful. If you leave it across the fairway or grab the wrong club, you can press the button again and it’ll come right to you. It’s one of those things you don’t think you need until you use it — then you realize how much time and effort it saves.

    App Control and Backup

If you forget to charge the remote or lose it during a round, you can control the FollowM8 through the Green Eagle app on your phone. It mirrors the remote and works as a full backup. The remote’s battery life is solid, but it’s good to know you’ll never be stuck without a way to control it.

    The Real Test

The biggest reason I wanted an electric caddy was for the long uphill walk between holes 10 and 11 at my home course. That climb is brutal. With the FollowM8, I cruised right up. I wasn’t out of breath or tired when I reached the next tee box, and that alone made the purchase worth it.

    Final Thoughts

After several rounds with the Green Eagle FollowM8, I can honestly say it’s one of the best values out there for anyone who wants to walk the course without the hassle. It’s easy to use, reliable, and loaded with features that make a difference.

    What I like
    • Strong value for the price
    • Smooth performance on all terrain
    • Excellent stability on hills
    • Reliable follow and recall features
    • App backup for remote control
    • Long battery life

    What could be better
    • The joystick takes a round or two to get used to
    • Turning tightly requires a little finesse
    • Accessories like an umbrella holder or seat are sold separately

    Verdict

For under two thousand dollars, the Green Eagle FollowM8 gives you the same performance you’d expect from much more expensive models. It’s dependable, practical, and genuinely makes walking more enjoyable. I’d rate it an 8 out of 10, and I’d buy it again without hesitation.

It’s the kind of product that lets you focus more on your game and less on everything else.
